In my final work, I am studying the cases of foreign characters in the contemporary Nordic cinema. A common case in the world of cinema, in wich the characters of another nationality are often depicted as single-layer and stereotyped. In my work, I want to prove that in contemporary Nordic cinema foreigners are portrayed not only as full psychological characters, but also as stereotypes. However, in most cases, they are used to reveal the social, economic, geographic problems of thei region or to emphasize the auto-rhythm of their citizens. |
