Abstract [eng] Various changes in information and communication technologies have a direct impact to social as well as economic processes. This applies as well to the culture sector. The television industry which was once undefeated as the most popular leisure activity is now facing an existential crisis brought on by the latest technological changes. New technologies not only pose new challenges for the traditional culture industries but provide new opportunities for said industries which as we can see our being used by various managers of popular music. Together with these changes we can see the metamorphoses of the profile for the consumer of culture. The goal of this thesis is analyze if the models for audience expansion are still relevant to the current television and popular music industries as well as investigate the current use and capabilities of television as a means to expand the target audience for popular music.
