Abstract [eng] This master’s thesis examines the concept of NPM, RPA and efficiency, also analysis of the processes of the public sector activities were analysed and the impact of RPA technology on the efficiency of business processes was evaluated. The paper presents the theory of New Public Management by Christopher Hood, also, the concept of process efficiency and discusses Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology. RPA analysis is mostly conducted in the context of business service centres, and there was no analysis in Lithuania of the use of RPA technology in the public sector. To understand the effectiveness of RPA’s in the public sector, research methods are used: case studies, structured expert interviews, SWOT analysis, and interrelationships. Conclusions and suggestions includes how to streamline the business processes with RPA technology, what part organizations should devote to reviewing business processes, and interpretations to understand the differences between employee and robot FTE.
