Analysis of scientific literature has shown that the elderly living alone are characterised by declining health, illness, reduced mobility, emotional disturbances, fear and anxiety. Due to these factors the elderly living alone are among the most vulnerable groups in society. Social work with the elderly people living alone is a complex process. Working with the elderly requires taking into account their specific characteristics and needs. It requires personal qualities such as empathy, respect for the elderly, sincerity and goodwill. The quarantine restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic increase loneliness and limit daily activities. Restrictions on the elderly during the pandemic can lead to their long-term social exclusion. The aim is to highlight the specificities of social work with the elderly living alone during the pandemic. Object: specificities of social work with the elderly living alone during the pandemic. Tasks: 6. to identify the characteristics of lives of the elderly living alone; 7. to identify the specificities of social work with the elderly living alone; 8. to identify the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the elderly living alone; 9. to reveal, through empirical research, the problems faced by the elderly living alone during the coronavirus pandemic quarantine; 10. to identify the characteristics of social work with the elderly living alone in care homes. |
