| Abstract [eng] |
The symbiosis between jazz and academic music has been discussed in the literature from various angles. It is interesting to note how the characteristics of these two worlds have influenced and continue to influence each other. It is important to note that it is the choice and integration of specific elements between different musical areas that forms a unique musical sound, but not much has been written about the choice and application of those elements. In particular, there is little systematic information on the integration of jazz elements into the creative process of academic music. We are well aware of, or can find information on, composers who have been inspired by jazz music, but these links between academic and jazz composition at the level of compositional techniques, have not yet been sufficiently analysed. This master thesis investigates the ways and means of expression that can be used to create the characteristic sound of jazz music within the framework of academic compositions. Based on the example of a personal work, the author was able to systematize several ways of integrating the means of expression of jazz music, which can be applied in the process of academic music creation. |
