In this master‘s degree final thesis the vessel of the shallow water with a specially adapted bow is analyzed. The ship model is investigated with CFD calculation methodology, the results are compared with model test experiments data. Final thesis consists of theoretical and experimental parts. The theoretical part provides an overview of which effects occurs in shallow water, how these effects needs to be evaluated and what studies are accomplished in this area. The opportunities for reducing of these effects are presented, the purpose of bulbous bow is described. Procedures and requirements released by ITTC are overviewed. In the experimental part of final thesis tests are carried out with computational fluid dynamics program Flow 3D. The results obtained are compared with model tests results. |
