The main reason of wear in machine elements is external friction, characterized by a two-body contact surface. This research work analyzes stainless steel wear phenomenon. Wear process takes effect in bread-slicing machines saw guides. The work carried out review and analysis of the most recent scientific studies on the wear phenomena. Created scheme of the wear phenomena researches technology. An overview of the materials resistant to wear was done. Based on review was selected a list of materials suitable for food industry. Materials were selected on the basis of this review for experimental studies to determinate best suited to conditions arising during machine operation. Experimental tests of materials were carried out in laboratory and natural conditions. Wear mechanism was determined. Material suitable for the saws guides’ production was determined based on investigations. |
