Abstract [eng] Even though technology, medicine and other scientific areas become more modern, none of these can stop the existence of suffering (both spiritual and physical). Suffering in human life is deeply rooted and human can‘t escape or otherwise avoid it. Human caught of such inevitability get scared, because he doesn‘t know why he suffers and how to outlive this painful situation faster. The Bible provides the answer for the seekers in history of Job, which may help to understand the meaning of suffering in a moment of despair. The first part of thesis presents an overview of Book of Job, it‘s writing context, structure of the work and content of the story. The second part analyses suffering of human life, suffering from a sin origins and exceptional case of Job – suffering as a trial. It also discusses the meaning of suffering in Christianity from the side of believer in God and side of irreligious. The third part is a detailed analysis of essential episodes of the Book of Job. It is a silence, as one of the forms of comfort, also a complaint, as a self-regeneration, spiritual self-help. Overviewing importance and meaning of conversation between Job, his friends and God. The last part presents the psychological insights, that are observed in the analysis of Job‘s suffering case. Comparison of Job‘s suffering survival course with psychological crisis phases. It also gives ant overview of three essential aspects, the person having, according to psychologists, can independently deal with a crisis event, and discusses, why these aspects don‘t help survive existential suffering. Also in this part subjected mistakes of Job‘s friends, they made by comforting a sufferer. Mistakes not to be repeated by spiritual advisors in their work.
