Abstract [eng] Examination of the seabed in the waterfront of the port and under the major sea–lanes is very important in the ever expanding port of Klaipeda (CORPI Funds data). Observations of the seabed with sonar equipment are useful for archaeologists too in looking for sank ships and larger objects lost from ships. Images quality obtained using side scan sonars are strongly influenced by the sonar tow consistency. Even small sonar disturbances caused by mechanical disturbances can greatly affect the extracted sonar images quality. To eliminate this problem, methods describing the mechatronic and software-intensive solutions were developed. It was designed motion measurement system for the ship sonar and sonar. Produced prototype of system that uses sensors and an electric motor. System successfully made the experimental measurements and tested the prototype system. Also recovered from the investigation of sonar images of objects of interest face ultrasonic scanning sonar detection problem is the material that can be effectively dealt with the information systems support. Expeditions harvest many images. Processing of images obtained with modern software tools (eg MatLab) can save time and increase productivity. Conclusion - to create three methods for side scan sonar surveys to improve the quality of the extracted images and the two algorithms to effectively speed up the search of objects.
