Abstract [eng] Gintaras Grajauskas – the playwriter who has been composing his playwriting since the very beginning of the XXI century. Few of his dramaturgic efforts came from the years of his studies, but the corpus named A girl which God was afraid of (2007) – is the first mature writing of Grajauskas as a playwriter. However, it has been analysed just a little. „A diary of the observer who writes about life“ is most accurately fitting line in describing Grajauskas‘ playwriting. The writer stands out with his ability to reveal the most relevant human conditions by using the contemporary means: his language is daily and casual, but there is a vivid sensation of the modern-day human traits and his/her respective lifestyle. Though the backbone of playwriting is considered to be script, which unveils the logo-centric position of an author, the screenwriter‘s authentic style corresponds well with the features intrinsic to post-modern era. The era, which is rapidly changing the theater as such in the contemporary. This research analyses separate elements of the play‘s structure, investigates its relationship with theater. The most distinct features of Grajauskas‘ plays are revealed by Jonas Vaitkus in his spectacle of A girl which God was afraid of, written by the author. Some discussions based on other plays written by Grajauskas serve the study as an opportunity to observe the trending characteristics of the national theater in the contemporary, and to reflect on the reasons of why those characteristics and processes determine a short lifespan of a play, directors’ and theater principals’ unwillingness to let the Lithuanian playwriting professionals into the biggest Lithuanian stages. Though each of the playwriters’ plays has been staged so far, Grajauskas is still yet to find his way in the theater.
