The aim of this study was to examine relationship among student’s social anxiety, academic achievement, self-esteem, self-efficacy and stress coping strategies. Students social anxiety is highest at bachelor‘s degree first year, and lowest at master‘s degree second year. The results of this study showed that social anxiety correlated with all stress coping strategies, except social support coping strategy. Negative relationship was found between self-esteem, self-efficacy, academic achievements and social anxiety. Positive relationship was found between self-esteem, self-efficacy, problem solving coping strategy and academic achievements. Negative relationship was found between emotional venting, avoidance stress coping strategies and academic achievements. High self-esteem, less frequent use of emotional venting and avoidance coping strategies predicted lower social anxiety. Self-efficacy, problem solving and emotional venting stress coping strategies mediated the relationship between social anxiety and academic achievements. Self-esteem, self-efficacy and stress coping strategies didn’t moderated the relationship between social anxiety and academic achievements. |
