The article evaluates the general situation and most typical forms of God-searching in modern Lithuanian poetry. The analysis focuses on three poets: Kajokas, Geda and Marčėnas. The historical cultural context suggests the distinction God-searching / God-making, which serves as the methodological model of the present investigation. The point of the authenticity of God-searching forms in the context of postmodernistic simulacra is being raised and the problem of secular and metaphysic motivation in discussed. On the ground on the analyzed texts, the article implies the positive effect of God-searching efforts in structuring the value centre of modern poetry. |
