| Abstract [eng] |
The article examines the teaching of the Bible about the family and marriage. Under examination is the formation of marriage understanding in the period of the Old Testament in the light of divine revelation and how this teaching was completed in the New Testament. Particular attention is drawn to the prominent place in God's plan given to the mystery of conjugal love as also the inf1uence of the biblical covenant perception upon the Tradition and Magisterium of the Church. The biblical perspective of the marriage sacramental dimension sheds light upon the family in the life of the behaver as important themes are touched, namely, the values of the marriage institution, marriage rights and duties, responsibilities and the mystery of parenthood. |
