Rural tourism is inevitably associated with the impact of the economy, socio-cultural environment and the nature. The article is analyzing an expansion of rural tourism by sustainable development aspect. The purpose of the article is to present a rural tourism farmsteads assessment methodology in sustainable development aspect. There has been performed a quantitative research – an assessment of experts (24 owners of farmsteads). There is presented a methodology which assists to calculate not only the in general sustainable development of rural tourism but also to assess its individual elements such as economic, social and environmental. By applying the proposed methodology all the elements of farmsteads’ sustainable development and their performance in the perspective can be assessed, and also can be used as one of a priority when distributing EU financial support. This assessment methodology might be seeking guidance for existing and prospective owners of rural tourism farmsteads. |
