Abstract [eng] Despite the obvious advantages of the joint organization for using the machinery, this form in Lithuania has not yet found wide acceptance. The purpose of this research – to identify the benefits and conditions of the introduction of various forms of sharing the machinery in rural areas, to provide an assessment model users' preferences on the attractiveness of different forms of sharing the equipment in economic activities of farmers, while ensuring sustainable development of their farms too. Analyzed the scientific literature, legal acts and statistics, surveyed experts (farmers and managers of cooperatives agroservice). The article presents the problems of farmers sharing the agricultural machinery. The content of the advantages and disadvantages of different forms of sharing the machinery, organizational, and psychological characteristics of their application in practice. Submitted proposals for measures to catalyze the process of cooperative development.
