| Abstract [eng] |
Academic dishonesty is a world wide spread problem with no exception made for the education system in Lithuania. It’s is a particularly sensitive problem which brings a serious consequences for students, the scientific community and also for the whole society. The aim of this work was to assess academic dishonesty during examinations and academic dishonesty at homework in the context of Ajzen's planned behavior theory (PBT)(Ajzen, 1991). It was confirmed that factors are distinguished in PBT theory: attitudes, the subjective norm, perception of behavioral control are related to the phenomenon of academic dishonesty in the sample of Lithuanian university students (N = 233). Moral beliefs and self-efficacy are distinguished as additional variables. It has been found that the moral beliefs not to cheat significantly predict the academic dishonesty of university students, both during examinations and in home assignments. As moral beliefs are not deceived, academic dishonesty decreases. Meanwhile, the links between self-efficacy and academic dishonesty have not been identified. |
