Recently, the scientists have been trying to answer the question of how to improve the socialization of students with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), to enable them live independly. There are a wide range of interventions options and methods for students with ASD. Study analyses that the key to success using evidence-based practices. Bu the gap between research-to-practice encourages to continue research. This study was carried out to reveal the experiences of educating students with ASD. A qualitative research design was chosen for this study. The 6 (age 44 – 56) teachers were interviewed and then the interviews were analyzed using Thematic Analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006). Semi-structured interview was utilized to collect data. 5 main themes were identified: Difficulties in interaction with ASD students; Outcomes of interaction; Subjective perspective on student; Subjective perspective on education situation; Trying to find succesfful methods. The study is important because it identifies new themes, which were not studied before. The themes helps to understand teacher‘s experieces of educating students with ASD, identify and plan the appropriate support. |
