| Abstract [eng] |
Over the last few years, Lithuania was shocked by several cases when parents undertake violence in respect to their children and such cases end in children’s death. As of July 2018 with the system of the centralised Child Rights Protection and Adoption Service System having come into force, within a month 500 children were taken from their parents and from an unsafe environment for at least a short term. Such statistics reveals that parents do not possess sufficient parenting skills. Parents who are facing social, psychological, economic problems and inadequate child care prevails in their families, are defined as parents experiencing social risks. Syllabuses for development of positive parenting skills are applied to educate positive parenting skills in parents experiencing social risks in Lithuania and other countries. It is relevant to investigate the possibilities of training of positive parenting skills in parents experiencing social risks through the application of a syllabus for training of positive parenting skills. |
