Changes in science and technology, social transformations encourage change and raise new requirements for teacher career - to develop himself, reflect, analyze, develop existing competencies and acquire new ones. t.i. lifelong learning on purpose to adapt to constantly changing living conditions. The object of the research is the system of teacher qualification improvement in Klaipeda city. The purpose of the research is to analyze the system of qualification improvement of educational institutions in Klaipeda, identify areas of improvement for this process and to prepare recommendations for the improvement of this process. The study was conducted in general education schools in Klaipeda. 116 Klaipeda city teachers participated in the research. A questionnaire was prepared to get the data based on the analysis of scientific literature. The results of the research allowed to identify the main problems of the Klaipeda City Municipality teacher qualification improvement system, t.i. unclearly regulated qualification improvement system, ineffective planning of funds for qualification development and educators choose ineffective short-term qualification improvement events to improve their competences. During the research it was found that Klaipeda city teacher qualification improvement system has to be improved and recommendations have been made for improvement. |
