Abstract [eng] The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the influence of the water resistance of high speed stepped vessel hulls with different geometric characteristics, to the ship's movement. At the beginning of the work, the analysis of scientific literature was carried out, in order to find out what achievements have been made on this topic and find the information or methods that could be used in this research. The basic theory about the total resistance and prediction methods were introduced. Based on the data from a well-designed ships, 2 different ship models, with different geometric characteristics of steps, were created using 3D hullform modeling program „DelftShip“. A mathematical experiment of Computational Fluid Dynamics was developed, using CFD software „Flow-3D“. The results of research were analyzed and compared to each other. The conclusions and recommendations for optimal geometric characteristics of hull steps were given.
