Abstract [eng] In a rapidly changing world, plastic production is growing at an average rate of 8,4 %, annually. Most plastic is used in the production of packaging and disposable tableware. The lifetime of these products is short and most of them become waste in a short period of time. Plastic waste is a growing concern as plastics are not biodegradable and they require hundreds of years to decompose. Moreover, plastics pollute the environment and the oceans, affect their ecosystem and harm animals in many ways. Therefore, it is very important to take some actions in order to reduce plastic waste. The best way to reduce plastic waste would be converting tem into new products or energy source. Plastic waste pyrolysis is a process, where plastic material is heated in an inert atmosphere and at elevated temperature. During this process, the organic part of the plastic polymer material decomposes and generates liquids and gases, that are used as alternative fuels or raw materials. This method is suitable for complex polymer waste, that contains a number of highly mixed materials and prior separation step is not needed.
