Abstract [eng] The aim of this work is to reveal the links between adolescents' life satisfaction, behavioral and emotional problems and adaptive functioning. The Multidimensional Scale of Student Life Satisfaction, the Young Man's Questionnaire, and the Adolescent's Psychological Functioning Questionnaire were used to evaluate the selected constructs. The study involved 197 adolescents (53% of boys and 47% of girls) from 9 to 12 grade ,studying in one of Klaipėda gymnasiums. Their average age is 16.7 years. The results of the study showed that teenagers are most satisfied with their friends and family and least satisfied with school. Girls are more prone to somatic complaints than boys. Girls have more emotional difficulties than guys. Adolescents perform best in socially adaptive behavior. Confidence is the area where the performance of adolescents in this sample is worse than in other measured areas. Girls care more about others and accept help and care from others than guys, while boys are more self-confident and self-satisfied, freer to interact with others than girls. 18-year-olds are more anxious than teens in other age groups, and 15-year-olds are less anxious. 18-year-olds are the most closed, and 15-year-olds are the least. Adolescents aged 18 and over are also the most likely to have somatic complaints. The results suggest that delinquent behavior tends to increase with age. However, no statistically significant differences were found between age and aggressive behavior. Non-adaptive behavior is more common in older than younger adolescents. The most non-adaptive behavior is common in 18-year-olds and the least common in 15-year-olds. Increasing life satisfaction reduces behavioral and emotional difficulties and improves adaptive functioning. Regression analysis of the data revealed a prognostic relationship between the variables: internal difficulties and adjustment in school allow predicting adolescents‘ life satisfaction. It can be predicted that life satisfaction increases with decreasing internal difficulties and improving adaptation at school. Adolescents’ satisfaction with life is predicted by better adaptation to school.
