Abstract [eng] Youth subcultures – these are dynamic entities with specific lifestyles, musical expressions, distinctive worldviews, shared values and behaviors. Young people when searching of the meaning of life, seek to realize themselves in the subculture, but its expression can have both positive and negative aspects, young people can face various problems: exclusion, bullying, conflicts, and so on. Social educators communicating with the followers of individual youth cultures often help them to solve the problems they face. This Thesis work when dealing with the scientific problem raises following problematic questions: what problems do young people belonging to the subculture face, what role does the school social pedagogue play in solving their problems and what help can he give them? The object of the research: The help of a school social pedagogue for young people belonging to subcultural groups. Purpose of the research: to reveal the forms, ways and methods of the help of the school social pedagogue in solving the problems of the youth belonging to the subculture. Research tasks: to analyze the concept of youth subculture, highlighting the peculiarities of youth subculture groups; to discuss the theoretical preconditions of the school social pedagogue's assistance to young people belonging to the subculture; on the basis of empirical research to find out what help the social pedagogue provides to the youth belonging to the subculture in solving their problems. Methods of research: comparative analysis, systematization and interpretation of scientific literature; semi-structured interviews with social educators, narrative interview research, methodology. Structure of the work: the work consists of abstracts in Lithuanian and English, lists of tables and figures, introduction, two chapters, discussion, conclusions, list of references and appendices. The work contains 13 tables and 2 pictures. Reference list presents 79 sources. The first part of the work analyzes on theoretical basis the help of the social pedagogue of the youth stage, solving the problems of youth belonging to the subculture, youth stage characteristics, subculture phenomenon, connection of subculture with general culture, youth subculture groups, peculiarities of youth subculture groups. It is revealed that youth is the final preparation for adult life, the most appropriate time for self-knowledge, experiments, research, self-search. For young people it is particularly important personal experience, which encourages belonging to a certain culture and / or group, and engages in subcultures. Belonging to a subculture provides an opportunity to reveal originality, to distance oneself from society, to reveal the aspiration to reconstruct ordinary values in a young way. Social educators by working with young people belonging to subcultures, help them to solve problems, encourage young people, provide them with a safe environment, involve them in informal activities at school, and create conditions for personal growth. The second part of this work presents an empirical study of the problems of young people belonging to subcultures and their solutions. The main findings of the study: the study has identified the problems which face young people belonging to the subculture and what assistance social educators has been providing to them. Problems experienced by young people are following - bullying, more difficult to engage them in informal activities, lack of communication, socialization, prejudice, rejection, harassment, intimate partner violence, hearing insults, gossip, negative comments, deteriorating their emotional and psychological state, deteriorating emotional and psychological state. Social pedagogues when solving their problems apply the communication methods, listen and advise young people, encourage communication with other young people, seek to create a safe environment in the educational institution, organize educational lessons, cooperate with other specialists, help young people integrate in the educational institution and in informal activities, apply bullying prevention measures, provide educational assistance. The research revealed that young people are tended to solve their problems, maintain a friendly relationship with social educators, and seek help from social educators. However, some young people are reluctant to talk about the problems they experience, not willing to accept the help which tey are provided and offered, do not always apply to social educators for help and therefore, their problems recur. Some young people belonging to subcultures face the indifference of social educators to their problems.
