Smoking of electronic cigarettes is spreading rapidly among school students and adolescents tend to stay at risk of becoming addicted to nicotine with attractive flavors and the imaginary feel of safety that quitting of smoking is easy. However, these beliefs are wrong – e-cigarettes through potential nicotine addiction can lead to the onset of tobacco cigarette smoking, affects social, behavioral and cognitive mechanisms, academic achievements. Therefore, a school has a particularly important role not only in introducing prevention to children but also in changing misconceptions about e-cigarette smoking. Thus, the problem arises: what are the prevention opportunities for improving e-cigarette smoking prevention in school? Object of the Thesis – electronic cigarettes smoking prevention opportunities at school. Aim of the Thesis – to reveal the opportunities of electronic cigarettes smoking prevention at school. Tasks of the Thesis: 1. to reveal the theoretical basis of electronic cigarette smoking prevention at school; 2. to study the attitude of social pedagogues to the possibilities of improving the prevention of electronic cigarettes smoking at school; 3. to study the attitude of class teachers to the possibilities of improving the prevention of electronic cigarettes smoking at school; 4. to create suggestions to social educators and educators on how to improve the prevention of electronic cigarettes smoking at school. Research methods: analysis of scientific literature, structured interviews, content analysis. The results of the research revealed that the social educators who participated in the research feel the need to improve the competence of school staff to electronic cigarettes prevention issues, and the lack of tools for interesting and attractive prevention. The school runs the prevention methods of electronic cigarettes in order to increase the effectiveness of cigarette prevention, thus social educators consider it necessary to strengthen the responsibility for electronic cigarettes smoking and increase the scope of the psychoactive substance prevention program to ensure its continuity. The analysis of the research results showed that in the opinion of the class educators who participated in the research, the effectiveness of cigarette prevention is reduced by the choice of inappropriate prevention methods and too little responsibility for electronic cigarettes smoking. The research also revealed the need to change the image of electronic cigarettes by proving their harmfulness to students through scientific evidence, as well as by changing the positive a picture of a adolescent smoking the electronic cigarette. To investigate the effectiveness of e-cigarettes, class educators see the benefits of involving parents in prevention through education not only for students. The prevention of e-cigarettes must be improved by raising the competence of school staff, selecting prevention measures according to age, promoting cooperation between the school and parents, and organizing busyness. |
