Cultural life of Lithuanian emigrants who came to the USA at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century was closely connected with Catholic traditions. The first societies and parishes were named after various saints. The name of St. Casimir was very popular. The aim of this article is to overview the activities of societies, churches, educational institutions, choirs, orchestras, which were connected with this name; musical works of church organists and composers, which were dedicated to St. Casimir; to analyse the reasons which stimulate Lithuanians in exile to preserve spiritual values of this noble personality. |
