The article analyses the importance of O. Messiaen's religion music, the development and formation of composer's religion outlooks. The traditional periods of his musical heritage are presented. The main features of Messiaen's sacral pieces, taken with the reference to epistle documents and the foresights of different foreign musicians were discussed. Messiaen's music reflects the man himself as well as his beliefs. The first idea that he wished to express was the existence of the truths of Catholic faith. |
