While implementing the reform in foster care system, encountered challenges require major change and time. Various resources are needed to mobilize comprehensive support and assistance and to ensure the professional support of the expectations of social workers involved in the process of reform in foster care system. There is a need of appropriate political solutions in the social, economic, cultural and political environment, the involvement and attention of state and municipal institutions in this process is crucial. Some Lithuanian researchers have studied the change management in a learning organization and employees‘ experiences in terms of change (Bersėnaitė J. et al., 2006), objective circumstances necessary for the successful professional activity of a social worker (Kavaliauskienė V. et al., 2017), the importance of reflection as an aspect of the expression of a social worker‘s professional activity (Kavaliauskienė V., 2010; Naujanienė R. et al., 2018), the professional challenges of social workers, support for them and the need to support supervision and intervision in the context of reform in foster care system (Kiaunytė A. et al., 2019). The problem of social worker‘s expectations for a professional support during the period of reform in foster care system is an area of a little research, so it is important to collect information, systemize it and interpret data in order to understand how a social worker undergoing the reform in foster care system can justify expectations of professional support. |
