Abstract [eng] There are not many studies conducted in Lithuania to review the provision of social and educational assistance to families at social risk, the aim of which is to find out the opinion of clients about the assistance provided to them. According to the activity report of the Ombudsman for Children of the Republic of Lithuania 2018 (2019), it was noted in the reporting year that a significant number of municipalities did not (actively) establish a network of services and often provided services to families and children without paying due attention to services that best meet individual child and family needs. search, ensuring their provision (accessibility). The problem – is what are the possibilities of providing social and educational assistance to families at social risk in Ukmergė district. The object of the research – is the provision of social and educational assistance to families at social risk in Ukmergė district. The aim of the research – is to investigate the possibilities of providing social and educational assistance to families at social risk living in Ukmergė district. Tasks: 1. To theoretically analyze the scientific literature on the concept of a family at social risk, to define what social and educational assistance is provided to the family. 2. To study the opinion of social workers about the possibilities of providing social and educational assistance to families at social risk in Ukmergė district. 3. To study the opinion of social risk families about the social and educational assistance provided to them. 4.To provide recommendations to Ukmergė district: social workers, for families at social risk, educational institutions, town / village elders. Methods: Analysis of scientific literature. Document analysis. Empirical - online survey, written survey. Statistical - data analysis was performed using the data processing program MS Office Excel 2016. The method used is quantitative data analysis. And the qualitative data obtained from open questions are processed by the content analysis method. Research methodology - during the research 24 social workers working in Ukmergė district and providing social services to families at social risk were interviewed. The opinion of 54 families at social risk about the social and educational assistance provided to their families is surveyed. The survey was conducted in 2020. February - March A questionnaire was used for both study groups. Results of the research - It was established that when providing social and educational assistance to families at social risk in Ukmergė district, there is a lack of - greater understanding and support of the community, community involvement in the provision of family support. In rural areas, there is no children's day center (other premises) where children can stay after school and prepare homework. There is a lack of diversity in preventive and educational activities. There is a lack of temporary accommodation services (for families in crisis situations. Lack of better transport and more transport resources (rural families often experience social exclusion, more difficult access to various specialist services, limited contact with the city and its institutions.) Lack of qualified psychologists, child psychotherapists There is a lack of social worker support for families in the social field - more frequent offers in preventive education activities, more help in finding a permanent job, help for children growing up in the family due to their learning problems. In the opinion of families, social and educational assistance could be improved by discussing with the client what support will be provided to the family and what results are expected. The quality of support would improve: it would be clearly identified due to the difficulties in the family, and it is important for families to develop their parents' ability to solve problems in the family on their own. Families pay more attention to the education of children growing up in the family. Not only social assistance is important for families, but also more frequent organization of preventive educational activities, lectures and courses for their families.
