Abstract [eng] Problem – What are the opportunities to stimulate the physical activity of 5-year-old children in preschool education? Object – Physical Activity Stimulation Opportunities for Five-Year-Old Children In A Preschool Institution. The work aims are to reveal the possibilities of stimulating physical activity of 5 - year - old children in a preschool educational institution. Work tasks: To perform a review and the analysis of existing scientific literature on the possibilities of stimulating physical activity for 5-year-old children. To perform a study using questionnaires on the opportunities and current applications of stimulation of the physical activity of 5-year-old children in pre-school education institutions by directly surveying educators. To perform a study using questionnaires on parental views and activities on the stimulation of the physical activity of 5-year-old children in pre-school education institutions by directly surveying parents. To provide a list of recommendations for educators and parents to stimulate the physical activity of 5-year-old children. Work method: Review and analysis of scientific literature, quantitative research, written survey (questionnaire), statistical data analysis using Microsoft EXCEL 15 and IBM SPSS 23 Statistics applications. Research methodology: targeted non-probabilistic quantitative research. General population - 144 respondents. Relevance and research of the topic: J. Ašmegienė, J. Izokaitis, J. Juzonienė and others. (2019), 51 per cent. educational institutions do not ensure that children devote at least 50 minutes to daily physical activity. According to the World Health Organization, about 80 per cent of the world's children do not reach the recommended amount of physical activity (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania, 2019). The European Communities (2007) point out that a lack of physical activity increases the risk of overweight, obesity and other chronic weight-related health problems, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Key Findings: It is widely accepted today that a healthy physical activity requires from 60 to 90 minutes of physical activity per day for children. This norm, in the opinion of the scientific community, can be promoted in pre-school education. The results of the study demonstrate that less than half of the pre-school educators reach the recommended daily level of physical activity i.e. at least 60 minutes of recommended activities during the day. Additionally, educators understand the importance of the development of a safe educational environment that meets the requirements of a group of children and stimulates physical activity. The educators are considering such factors and acknowledge the applicability of advanced methods for education, adapting non-traditional morning exercises and develop an environment which will satisfy children's physical activity requirements. More than half of the surveyed parents believe that their children are sufficiently active in the pre-school education institution. The purpose of this study is to provide recommendations which will increase the number of parents participating in the pre-school education institution for the promotion of children's physical activity. Parents believe that educators should encourage parental participation within the group of children, notably, parents have revealed the opportunity to participate in outdoor sports games, quizzes, and other active entertainment activities. The prepared recommendations provide examples of practical possibilities that would have an effective impact on the improvement of the quality of education and the opportunities to achieve the recommended 60-90-minute timing of children's physical activity daily. the level of the daily rate of physical activity. Additionally, the main areas of improvement for teachers and parents have been identified.
