In this thesis we review Joint Stock Company’s “Centrinis Klaipedos Terminalas” roll on- roll off terminal, particulary it’s main parameters: number and length of quays, used loading equipment, storage area. Also ro-ro vesels discharging-loading technology is analyzed in detail. The main aim of this thesis is to review and evaluate ro-ro handling equipment used in Joint Stock Company “Centrinis Klaipedos Terminalas” terminal, pick out its pros and cons. Provide suggestions on how to increase terminal’s handling efficiency and capacity. Calculate cargo traffic in year 2025 using linear and multicriterial forecasting methods, comparing calculated values. After that we will need to calculate required infrastructure, for forecasted cargo quantity, this include: required number of quays, individual quay length, storage area, and also minimal number of loading equipment required to efficiently load and discharge forecasted cargo volume on time. If any limits are discovered, potential solutions will be suggested, in order to avoid any possible limitations from terminals perspective. |
