The object of the research - the security and defense policy of the European Union. The aim of the research - to reveal the development of the European Union's security and defense policy and the features of its expression. The tasks of research: 1. To analyze the origins and development of the EU Security and Defense Policy. 2. To find out what the institutional mechanism of the CFSP is and how it works. 3. To discuss the institutional framework of the European Union's CSDP and its purpose. 4. To determine whether the small states of the European Union have the opportunity to influence the formation of the CSDP. 5. To identify problems in the functioning of the EU security and defense policy. Overview of the thesis structure. The first part of the work presents the theoretical concept and development of the EU Security and Defense Policy, the genesis of the decision-making mechanism, the institutional structures of the EU Security and Defense Policy, features and opportunities for cooperation in the field of security and defense. The second part of the work is devoted to the possibilities of Lithuania and other small EU states to influence the formation and expression of the CSDP. The third part of the work is devoted to the problems of the functioning of the EU security and defense policy. |
