Abstract [eng] Clean and sustainable energy and fuels are becoming increasingly important challenges in modern society. Although the advantages of maritime transport are indisputable - high carrying capacity, high safety and low operating costs, comparing with other transports. However, despite these advantages, emissions of NOx, SOx, and particulate matter from marine diesel engines cause environmental pollution in ports and coastal areas. Due to the high mobility, the large area and the performance of the vessels, the impact on the environment and human health has increased. So the goal these days is to find an alternative fuel solution. As biomass is seen as a promising alternative to fossil fuel, much effort is being made around the world to convert renewable biomass to biofuels. During the work, mixtures with marine diesel oil , wasted cooking oil and C4-С5 alcohols were made, and the main quality characteristics of marine fuel were determined for the produced mixtures. Obtain results according to the requirements of the quality standard ISO 8217. Experimental studies have shown that mixtures of branched alcohol isomers with marine diesel have lower values of density, first drop distillation, flash point, pour point, oxidative stability, and calorific value compared to mixtures of straight structure isomers. Other characteristics, such as kinematic viscosity, ash content and cetane number, the branched structure of the alcohols in the mixture increase the values of the characteristics.Compound blends specified in ISO 8217 in terms of basic quality characteristics have been found to be close to marine diesel and can be used as fuel. After the research of the quality characteristics of the composite blends and the analysis of the results, it is proposed to use marine diesel blends with 32%. 1-pentanol and 3% by volume of used oil.
