Abstract [eng] The purpose of this research paper is to analyze how female characters of Henrik Ibsen plays were created in the selected plays of Lithuanian theatre – “The Master Builder“ and “The Doll‘s House“ by J. Vaitkus, “Hedda Gabler“ by G. Varnas and “Ghosts“ by A. Areima. The object of this paper is the female figures of the plays “Ghosts“, “The Doll‘s House“, “Hedda Gabler“ and “The Master Builder“ by Henrik Ibsen, and their interpretations in Lithuanian theatre. The history of the productions of the performances according to the Ibsen plays in Lithuania is briefly introduced; the female figures portrayed in the plays are being analyzed in the research paper; and the ways the female characters were being created in the selected plays are being analyzed on the basis of the reviews and criticism. The conclusions of the analysis of the plays show that female characters were created in various ways. Actors’ body plasticity was extremely important to the performances of “The Master Builder“ and “Ghosts“. The variety of contrasts had a lot of importance to the performances of “The Master Builder“ and “Hedda Gabler“ as well. The change of intonation was mostly significant to the figure of Nora Helmer; however, this method was also used in other performances as well. All female characters were highly influenced by the scenography and costumes, which highlight the progressive character change. And, of course, characters were being created according to the stage communication principle - women communicating with other characters on the stage.
