Contemporary opera performers need to master not only the art of opera vocals and develop acting skills, but also to better understand the genre differences and the historical context of the work being performed, the stylistic ideals and dramatic solutions of the time. All this knowledge will allow the future performer to interpret the works correctly, as not all the nuances of the performance can be intuitively felt or drawn from the recordings. For the contemporary performer, the first acquaintance with the role begins with an analysis of the score, primary and historical sources. |
