Abstract [eng] In an environment influenced by change, the cultural sector needs to be more creative and responsive than ever to changing realities. The challenges of recent years, influenced by the pandemic and the restrictions imposed on movement and gatherings, have not bypassed Lithuania's cultural centres either. Although virtual and hybrid events are not a new phenomenon, restrictions on contact events have encouraged cultural centres to use new technologies to organise events remotely. The challenges faced by cultural centres are not only the lack of previous practice in organising such events, but also the lack of the necessary tools and instruments to manage them. When changing from traditional event management practices to virtual events, it is important to highlight the peculiarities of organising virtual events. The paper not only reviews the general situation of Lithuanian cultural centres, but also offers suggestions for improving the organising of remote events: to improve, strengthen and adapt the technical and material base for organising these events; to improve the knowledge and competences related to organising of these events and to put them into practice; to apply and use interactive tools; to collect and analyse data on the virtual audiences and to adapt the content to the statistical indicators; and to take advantage of the other benefits of virtual and hybrid events.
