Abstract [eng] |
The master's thesis examines the transport sector which has a negative impact on society and the environment due to its high greenhouse emissions. In order to solve the problems that pose an existential threat to the transport sector, the impact of transport on the environment and society, the sustainable development of the transport sector, and methods of assessing sustainable development are analyzed. The main aspects of the European Union's Green Deal relating to the transport sector have been examined as one of the main initiatives towards a sustainable service lifesport sector. In order to carry out an assessment of the sustainable development of Lithuanian transport companies, a list of indicators for assessing the sustainable development of the transport sector was compiled. The study on the assessment of the sustainable development of Lithuanian transport companies used expert assessment, the copras multi-factor assessment method and cluster analysis. The obtained results of the study made it possible to identify the main indicators on the basis of which transport companies carry out sustainable development. In view of the inefficient or complete contribution of other transport companies to the achievement of the objectives of sustainable development of the EU Green Deal, a model for assessing the sustainable development of transport companies has been developed. After analyzing the theoretical and practical aspects of the assessment of the sustainable development of Lithuanian transport companies, the conclusions and proposals of the final thesis are presented.
