Abstract [eng] The aim of the artistic research paper is to prove, after having revealed a multifaceted polyfunctionality of a pianist-accompanist, that a pianist should possess psychological as well as physiological knowledge that immensely influences the results of artistic activities of a soloist. The work analyzes and compares the features of artistic activities of various profile soloists (i.e. vocalists, string and wind performers). Great attention is paid to the peculiarities of the psychological relationship between the pianist-accompanist and the soloist as well as to the significance of their temperaments. Also, the research focuses on physiological reactions of soloists both when they are relaxed and under stress. The work is innovative and relevant due to the fact that the research on psychological and physiological aspects of artistic cooperation between soloists and pianists-accompanists has only recently been started in Lithuania and has been scarce. The research conclusions scientifically prove former empirical assumptions about the importance of the role of a pianist in creative activities of a soloist and help in the formulation of specific recommendations for pianists-accompanists concerning the general psychological knowledge on the cooperation between a soloist and pianist, as well as special knowledge related to the needs of a particular soloist (i.e. a singer or an instrumentalist).
