This paper explores the dimensions of creativity and their relationship to personality traits as described by the Big Five personality trait model developed by McCrae and Costa. It outlines the key characteristics that distinguish the creative personality from individuals who are more likely to make decisions based on stereotypical thinking, and the neurological factors that shape these characteristics. The study is based on the hypothesis that certain traits of an individual determine his/her choice to play a particular musical instrument and analyses which personality traits are predominant among individuals engaged in artistic creative activities. |
