Abstract [eng] |
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the cause and progression of bolt failures in shell-to-shell flanges of large ball mills. A mathematical model capable of evaluating flange sensitivity to overload and enabling to predict working conditions of damaged flange is developed. Model results are compared with field data of 5,49 x 7,47 m copper ore ball mill. A gap measuring technique for evaluation of flange surface damage without mill shell disassembly is proposed. Research conclusions and recommendations for mill maintenance are given. Thesis consists of: preface and discription of the problem, review of scientific articles and research tendencies, description of mathematical modelling methods, experimental part, discussion of results, conclusions and recomendations, references, appendixes. Size of the thesis – 54 pages of text without appendixes, 27 figures, 4 tables, 39 references, 2 appendixes. |
