The aim of this paper is to become familiar with IBM mainframe systems. Get basics about its architecture and operating systems. IBM mainframes are compared with other computing platforms and the main differences, advantages and disadvantages are discussed in general. The second part of this paper discusses the management of mainframe applications and tries to answer the question why it is so important to monitor system and applications behaviour? |
