| Abstract [eng] |
This master's thesis explores the potential for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into innovative product development processes, taking into account rapid technological advancement and the growing necessity for companies to strengthen their competitive advantage in the market. Through a comprehensive review of scholarly literature, the theoretical foundations of innovative product development are examined, alongside an analysis of empirical methodologies employed by other researchers in the field. Based on this analysis and the conducted empirical research, a structured AI integration model has been developed, grounded in the "Stage-Gate" innovation management framework. The empirical part of the study includes a simulation that evaluates the impact of AI application across various stages of product development – from idea generation to business plan formulation. The findings reveal that the implementation of AI technologies can improve the development process, reduce time-to-market, enhance decision-making quality, and improve innovation efficiency in the manufacturing sector, particularly within the context of Lithuanian industry. The thesis consists of: introduction, theoretical aspects of the interface between artificial intelligence and innovative products, empirical studies of methodologies of AI integration in innovative product development, a model of AI integration in innovative product development, conclusions and suggestions. |
