Abstract [eng] Learning, when being a senior, is of particular importance to person’s health and good well-being, his social integration in the society. Integration of seniors in the society is limited not only by health problems, physical state, morbidity and vulnerability, but also by inability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies on time. Quality of life for these people highly depends not only on their attitude towards the process of ageing, but also on the support provided by the state, efficiency of health politics and efficiency of education politics in the state. Non-formal education services could help the elderly to integrate into the modern society of 21st century more easily, it would ensure their independence, social environment and communication, it would save their self-dependence and improve their quality of life. Research purpose – to assess the importance of non-formal education services being provided as improvement of the quality of life for seniors in Klaipeda city. Research methods. Qualitative method of research has been performed. Semi-structured interview has been selected for the implementation of a qualitative research. Instrument used: questionnaire consisted of 5 principal and 6 additional questions. The method of content analysis has been applied. 7 andragogues with education in andragogy participated in the research, also, 2 informants from Klaipeda city Public Health Office, 3 informants from Imanuel Kant Public Library of Klaipeda City Municipality and 2 informants from Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library. Research performed in accordance with principles of ethics. Research results. It was established that the health of seniors in Klaipeda city improves with provided non-formal education services (digital literacy, healthy lifestyle, foreign languages), they become more self-confident, independent (self-sufficient) and more social. Conclusion. A characterised link between non-formal education services and lifelong learning, improving quality of life for seniors, allowed stating that non-formal education services shall be related to raising self-esteem of senior people. Moreover, the process of lifelong learning is prolonged with the provision of non-formal education services by means of the newest information technologies, learning foreign languages, developing habits of a healthy lifestyle, thus, self-confidence, independence and greater social activity are acquired, and it shall be related to better quality of life.
