Abstract [eng] The thesis investigates street traffic flows (TF) and their noise level (NL). The main object of the research is the interaction between road traffic flows in the streets, the surrounding environment and the instantaneous noise emitted by vehicles. Noise emitted by the vehicles is one of the most im-portant factors; it causes the negative effect on the health of road users and people near the streets (living, working, studying, resting, healing…) and hinders their labour activities. A detailed analysis of the traffic flow and its noise level enables determining the influence of the traffic flow dynamic processes on the noise level and possible appropriate measures to reduce it. The aim of the thesis is to modify the discrete traffic flow research method, which allows evaluating their dynamic processes influencing the instanta-neous noise level emitted on city streets. The thesis investigates the influence of traffic light control and a traffic accident on the traffic flow dynamic processes upon applying the modified discrete traffic flow research method. The instantaneous level of the noise emitted by the traffic flow is determined on evaluating the results obtained by the modified discrete traffic flow research method and experimental noise level data upon assessing the condition of the road surface, the speed, and the category of vehicles. The thesis includes the introduction, four chapters, general conclusions, the list of references and the list of publications of the author on the subject of the thesis and 4 annexes. The introduction reveals the investigated problem, importance of the thesis and the object of research; it describes the purpose and the tasks of the thesis, research methods and equipments, scientific novelty, the practi-cal significance of results examined in the thesis and the defended state-ments. The introduction ends in presenting the author’s publications on the subject of the defended thesis, offering the material of made presentations in conferences and defining the structure of the thesis. In the first chapter, sources of scientific literature on the subject of the thesis are reviewed. It provides data from other researchers and the essence of the results in traffic flow and noise studies. At the end of the chapter, conclusions are drawn, and the tasks for the thesis are reconsidered. The second chapter presents a modified discrete traffic flow research method and a developed instantaneous noise level research methodology. The third chapter presents the results of the experimental research on traffic flows dynamic processes and their noise. The fourth chapter presents the analysis of theoretical modeling results of the influence of traffic flow parameters on the instantaneous noise level. On the topic of the thesis, 7 scientific papers were published: one – in scientific journal included in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science, two – in reviewed scientific journal, two – in the Clarivate Analytics Proceedings data base publications, two – in the scientific conference materials. Four presentations on the subject have been given provided in conferences of international level.
