Abstract [eng] |
In year 2020, from February 22 to March 9, the filming expedition of my documentary film "Alphonso" took place. This film is an attempt to reveal a portrait of the philosopher Alphonso Lingis, which focuses on his inner world. The task presupposed a creative strategy: when Alphonso agreed to accept the film crew to live at his home in Baltimore, we were about to live with him for 17 days and film what we thought would best reveal him. I formulated a hypothesis: by creating a beautiful, trust-based relationship with the hero of the film, he will be open, will not shy away from showing his sensitive sides, and this will allow us to create a deep felt film about him. I was motivated by a desire to better understand a person whose work and life stories I admired. I had a hunch as to what topics this creative process might be moving towards, but not pre-determined goals. I would consider the filming expedition, which focuses on the search for the theme of the film, manifested in the course of the relationship with his hero, as a practical part of the artistic research. This theoretical part is designed to analyze the experience gained, which is the object of research. |
