State performing arts institutions occupy one of the most important places in Lithuanian cultural life. Currently, there are 21 State Institutions of Professional Performing Arts in Lithuania. In Lithuania, state performing arts institutions are non-profit and face various environmental challenges in their daily activities. The work hypothesizes that strategic management and the application of strategic management methods appropriate for performing arts institutions play an important or even key role in improving the activities of state performing arts institutions. This work can be relevant in the context of the strategic management science of performing arts organizations and can contribute to the development of the theory of strategic management of performing arts institutions. In order to achieve the aim of the work, it is desired to determine the peculiarities of the strategic management of Lithuanian state performing arts institutions. To this end, the concept of strategic management was defined, the principles of formation of strategies of state performing arts institutions were clarified, a qualitative study of state performing arts institutions using the questionnaire method was performed and a comparative analysis of strategic (operational) plans of Lithuanian and foreign state performing arts institutions was performed. |
