Abstract [eng] |
It is not widely recognized that Verdi’s mezzo-soprano is a different subcategory of voice than a typical dramatic mezzo-soprano, singing roles written by this composer requires a different approach on vocal and acting itself. Eboli and Azucena are both strong, complicated women. Singers, if they wish to perform those roles, should be well-prepared vocally and playfully. Since there is not much written information about this certain type of voice, the main aim is to examine its' peculiarities, main tasks through analysing roles of Eboli and Azucena both musically and dramaturgically. As well as that, the author goes deep into possible aspects of acting while playing in those two operas through analysing different stagings. |
